【槟城美食】超热情招待のNyonya Breeze warm service


前言:造访Nyonya Breeze过程可以说是波折重重来形容,先是在星期二晚造访时,去到餐馆才发现这里是休业星期二的,结果最后在小晶吵吵嚷嚷下被逼去吃Sakae Sushi。最后改变行程,计划星期四晚再次造访,不过当然先call去问问有没营业以防万一。终于在星期四晚上浩浩荡荡出发了,怎么知道到了中路才想起foodmice voucher放在我的车(我驾小晶的车),没办法之下,还好有带laptop出来,打算借用附近wifi上网,怎么知道连Penang Wifi,气煞我。后来跑到网咖打算打印voucher,哪里知道打印机出问题,所以就save soft copy就好然后再跑到附近的相片店打印,这么折腾就花掉我们45分钟
Before visiting Nyonya Breeze, it could be a disaster for me. First, I visit Nyonya Breeze on Tuesday but when I reach there, only know that they closed on Tuesday so without a choice, I visit Sakae Sushi on that day. Finally, I change my plan and visit it in Thursday night. When we reach Macalister Road, I just notice I forgot to bring my foodmice voucher, oh my gosh!! No choice and I have to rush to Internet Cafe nearby to save a copy then print it at the Photo Shop. The rushing for printing waste me a 45minutes!!
 其实Nyonya Breeze是一间占地不大的小餐馆,而且店面有点凹进去店门外设计也很简约所以要是没特别注意真的会有点难发现。店外虽然有小空间让顾客停放汽车但顶多可以停放4辆车罢了,如果有更多空间停放,相信对生意会有更大帮助。
Actually Nyonya Breeze is not very big, but due to the shop design is concave inside, it's difficult to notice it if you pass by the shop. And the parking space is limited, it would cause customer ran off if they fail to find the parking here. Just some comment to Nyonya Breeze.

别小看这么一间娘惹小餐馆,顾客也不少哦而且到访的顾客都是家庭居多,也就是一来就是来一大班人的哦。当时已经快9点钟了,没想到还会这么多顾客,而且当晚还是weekday而已。这里的老板之一告诉我们这里大小桌子一共12张。
Dont look it just a small restaurant which only fit 12 big+small table but it full of customer although I visit it on 9PM + it is weekday that night.

 
餐馆内有一块大大的板细述娘惹餐的历史。
There is a board that describe Peranakan and Nyonya food history.

别小看这里哦,有曾经上报的,相信报纸效应也会带动一定的食客。根据这里的股东之一说,这里是他和他阿姨和另外一位股东三人一起搞起来的,越来越喜欢这种家庭式的餐馆,都是很用心经营,而且老板和服务生都超礼貌、超人情的说。如果要看看Menu,可以参考他们的Facebook
Nyonya Breeze is been reported on newspaper too, sure there is lot of customer visit after reading from newspaper. Based on the shareholder of Nyonya Breeze, he share and operate the restaurant with his auntie and another partner. 在老板的热情介绍下,Foodmice送出价值【RM35】的套餐包括菊花茶(冷/热)、椰汁煮番薯叶、甲必丹咖喱鸡、四念豆加拉武、乌达外加两盘白饭。乌达是老板取代已售窑的黑糯米糖水而提供的。由于给小晶看到她喜欢的参巴臭豆炒虾【RM12】,当然又吵吵嚷嚷要吃,所以另外order一个小份的。老板介绍完后还说菜肴8分钟后会送到了,可是菜肴一下子就铺满整个桌上了,效力够快速的。坦白说,这么一个两人套餐真的是会撑饱我们,就算3人吃应该也没问题。
The owner is intro us the Foodmice voucher which cost RM35. The set meal included Chrysanthemum Tea(Hot/Cold), Huan Chu Heok Masak Lemak, Kari Kapitan, Kerabu Kacang Botol, Otak-Otak and with 2 rice. Otak-otak is the replacement of Bubur Beras Hitam Pulut which already sold off in 730PM. Due to Jing love the Sambal Udang Petai 【RM12】 so much, we order a small plate. Within 8minutes as per promise by owner, the food is served all over the table, it's too fast too efficient. Frankly speak, the set meal is too much for 2person, served 3person also not a big deal.
菊花茶:味道不过不失,不过应该不是泡的,是真的菊花茶煮的吧。
 Chrysanthemum Tea: Taste just nice, not much comment.

椰汁煮番薯叶:可能加入番薯的关系而且椰汁很浓,所以这道菜肴有点甜,吃多会腻,如果小份一些或4人一起分享就刚刚好。
Huan Chu Heok Masak Lemak: Maybe the reason add in the sweet potato and coconut milk, the taste a bit sweet, cant having too much. If share with 4 people then should be OK.
 甲必丹咖喱鸡:虽然是小份的但是有4块鸡肉,不会太腻也不会太辣,有点小油不过我喜欢。如果仔细品尝,还会发现酸柑味道哦。
Kari Kapitan: Although it served small size but it have 4pieces of chicken and I love it so much. The taste wont too over and spicy, if you taste carefully, you will found that there is lime taste inside.
 四念豆加拉武:这个味道也不赖也不会太辣,虾都不会小只哦。小晶超喜欢。
Kerabu Kacang Botol: The taste not bad and a bit sour & spicy, the prawn also not the small small size one. Jing love it so much.
乌达:鱼肉很幼而且配上Kaduk叶,我很喜欢这个乌达。
Otak-Otak: The fish meat is soft and with Kaduk Leaves, taste very good.
参巴臭豆炒虾:我不吃臭豆不过小晶吃得津津有味而且还嫌少,不过她说那是稻田臭豆会比较贵很脆口?不过我就很喜欢那个参巴,够味!
Sambal Udang Petai: I dont like Petai but Jing love it and she said the petai is Paddy Petai, taste crunchy. But I like the sambal, taste good!
白饭:为何要评白饭呢?因为老板说这里的白饭是任装,如果你是饭桶,要一座山的白饭也会奉上。如果只是叫ala carte,只需加RM1就可以白饭任装了。 
White Rice: Why the white rice need a comment? It is because you could refill the white rice whatever you wish too. If you order ala carte dishes, you just need to topup RM1 then you can enjoy unlimited refill white rice, refill like a mountain also no additional charge. (If you could finish it XD)

后记:从走进这里到用餐完毕,我超满意这里的服务,虽然这里不收取政府税和服务税,可是依然可以享受到超热情+和蔼可亲的服务,尤其那位老板,让我想到“义海豪情”的日本大佐-向山铁也(希望老板不要生气我)
P/S: From I entering the restaurant until finish my meal, I SUPER satisfy the service here. Although the service is SUPERB but there is no Gov tax nor Service Tax charges, is it very googd? And the owner recall me he alike a person from TVB drama

【槟城美食】Gurney Sakae Sushi

 
其实之所以会来sakae sushi是完全out of planning的。原本计划当晚是要去Nyonya Breeze的,可是Nyonya Breeze是每逢星期二休业的,我完全忽略了。最后决定搏看没预定去shinjuku能不能用上voucher,怎么知道老板说不能,一定要预定才能用!!我的天!!最后,想说就到Young Heart吃RM2的面吧,小晶还说要是Young Heart也休业就吃Sakae Sushi...怎么知道Young Heart真的也休业,让小晶极度兴奋因为可以吃寿司了。可能当天制水关系吧,很多食物档口和餐馆都纷纷休业。

我们经过二楼时看到新开的Koi,还看到standard chartered信用卡可以回扣15%咧但看一下menu,折扣后还比sakae便宜一点点咧,想说决定试试看这里的新餐厅。可是看一下 T&C,信用卡只限signature dishes罢了,湫。。。最后还是决定到排着长长人龙的sakae。。。

其实已经是第三次和小晶来这里了不过之前都不曾分享过这里。我们一坐下来就order不停,小晶更是毫不客气点了一堆。最后我们点了macam macam的寿司了,都不记得什么名字了。
我自己还点了一碗Sakae Chawanmusi,nyum nyum。。。

哈哈,这个就是我每次到sakae sushi挑战自我的“辣辣寿司”,不过当晚的芥末还好罢了,不会很呛鼻。我轻而易举的挑战成功,哈哈~~

这个就是压轴了,是小晶最后向我特别要求的Salmon Zukushi,一盘长长的都是三文鱼片和三文鱼寿司,小晶当然吃得不亦乐乎啦,可是我对三文鱼只是嘛嘛地罢了。很奇怪为何很多女生都酱喜欢吃寿司或三文鱼。
结果这餐我们一共吃了2碟粉红盘【RM3.90】、6碟红盘【RM6.90】和3碟青盘【RM1.90】,外加一碗chawanmushi、一个Salmon Zukushi和两杯热绿茶,一共要了我荷包的RM88.20

【槟城美食】Raja Uda Tom Yam II [Apollo]

早前有推荐过光华小学东炎了,由于光华那边突然休业一段时间,截至24-Dec 2010依然休业中,可能发了达,老板娘和员工去“公司旅行”了吧?呵呵。。。
既然光华没有开,唯有把目标转向第二选择咯,大家称之Apollo Tom Yam,实际档口是在Raja Uda的 Joo Heng咖啡店内收买。这里的东炎上桌速度比光华小学东炎的来得快很多。这里只需等10-15分钟,光华那边的起码要等半小时。

我必点的是炸鱼块、鲍鱼片、肉丸、肉碎(Bak Chou)、鱼丸等等。其实我一直觉得这里的东炎素质一直改变,有时酸有时辣有时不酸不辣有时刚好有时过辣过酸,讲到我自己都觉得啰嗦了。当天的味道是过酸不够辣而且东炎有点不够味道有点淡,不是很满意。

不要看小晶小小一只,这碗东西就是她的,而且还不贵不拿的,什么虾咕肉、鲍鱼片、鱼丸、八爪鱼等都拿齐而且还拿一堆的。她吃得津津有味,真的怀疑是不是只要是东炎她就ngam了。

【槟城美食】D'Food Garden 无火烹饪鸡鸡。。。


  
其实已经听闻这家餐馆很久了,之前来Wok's时已经有留意到了不过一直在等foodmice送我voucher来这里用餐咯
Actually I heard D'Food Garden since long time ago, even I have their facebook d. Previously when I visit Wok's, I had notice them but before enjoy here, I have to wait foodmice to give me free meal voucher =P


餐馆的室外和室内设计,和一般cafe是没很大分别,不过由于这里是一位太太和她老公经营,相信也是自己精心布置的吧。墙上贴满很多“招牌菜”,可以试试看哦。至于楼上当初有点后悔没上去看看,应该也是供顾客用餐的地方吧。。。
The cafe interior and exterior design, it's not much different with other cafe. But due to this cafe operate by one misses with her husband, sure the decoration is design by their own, hope i'm correct. The wall stick a lot of Signature Dishes, you may try it. And I regret didnt visit upper floor, it should be additional place for customer to enjoy the meal.
D'Food Garden有什么特别之处呢?特别就是这里不用瓦斯、火炉,一律都用电磁炉来烹饪。老板娘还上报呢。当然,这里的招牌菜当然是鸡扒饭咯。。。
What is the special for D'Food Garden? The special is they not using gas or fire to cook but using the induction cooker to cook. The signature dishes here of cos is Chicken Chop rice lo....

Foodmice真的是随处可见,这次的voucher是提供RM30回扣,只要我们点任何食物都可以,最终价钱回扣RM30。而饮料方面我要了三色奶茶【RM3.90】而小晶要了无冰橙汁【RM3.80】,晶说那个橙汁很浓一下咧。而我的三色奶茶不过不失也不会太甜。
You really can find foodmice everywhere, the voucher foodmice provided can get RM30 rebate from total bill. I pick 3layer tea 【RM3.90】for my drinks and Jing order an orange juice 【RM3.80】. Jing said the orange juice was heavy of fruit taste and my 3 layer tea also not bad, wont be too sweet.

食物方面,小晶要了辣椒虾鸡扒饭【RM11.90】。那个辣椒虾的酸辣汤很好喝下,不过有点辣咯。至于炸鸡扒,没有偷工减料的嫌疑哦,而且炸得很香脆。白饭还放了一些黑芝麻,让整道饭看起来更有美感。
Jing order the Sambal Prawn Chicken【RM11.90】and the Sambal Prawn soup is fantastic but a bit spicy for me and Jing. The chicken chop is big portion and crunchy too. White rice add some black sesame above that makes the meal become more tastier.

而我要的是特色怪味鸡扒饭【RM10.90】。原来所谓怪味就是酸甜酱淋在鸡扒上面。而想不到的是还有我喜欢的鸡蛋炒冬粉+萝卜,另外还附赠一碗鸡蛋味赠汤。不过听闻这酸甜酱是老板娘独家炮制的哦。
And I order Crispy Chicken with Special Sauce 【RM10.90】. The special sauce actually taste like sweet sour sauce that pour on the chicken chop. But I dont know the set is come with fried egg with "Tang Hun" + carrot, love it!! And the set come with egg soup too. But I heard that the special sauce is secret recipe by Tauke Soh wor....

我和小晶比较大吃,加上不好意思白吃白喝所以另外order了招牌之一的苏东圈【RM5.80】。苏东肉有点软,没什么韧性,应该是解冻很久的关系吧。不过另外点老板娘独家的酱料,还是很美味的。。。还热烘烘的哦。。。
Me and Jing eat quite a lot so we order Calamari Rings【RM5.80】.The squid meat is not so flexibility, but mix with the special sauce, it taste very nice and it's HOT too....

【槟城美食】Ivy's Kitchen 家的味道

之所以会来这里是有点预料之外,本来打算星期日午餐时间光临可是临时发生小意外所以就在晚上8点多才决定过来。由于Chow Thye Road是单行道所以必须从Tovoy Road弯进去经过住宅区才抵达Ivy's Kitchen(和新宿日式火锅料理同一排)。经过Tovoy Road我们还在A1肉粽车买了3粒粽子^^。抵达Ivy's Kitchen时已经是9点3了而我们也没发现这里是只营业到930pm罢了。虽然接近营业尾声可是老板依然热情招待我们。。。
Actually visiting Ivy's Kitchen at night is totally out of my plan due to some incident of that day and finally we decide to visit it at 8+pm. In order to reach Ivy's Kitchen, we go through Tovoy Road and pass through the row house only can get to Ivy's Kitchen at Chow Thye Road (One Way). It's same row with Shinjuku Japanese Cuisine as well. That day pass through Tovoy Road, we also buy 3 Bak Chang from A1 Bak Chang ^^.

【Ivy's Kitchen的由来是老板娘的名字 - Ivy,由于老板娘烧得一手好菜,每道菜肴都是亲自下厨烹饪,绝对无添加任何防腐剂所以来这里享用的游子,肯定会令游子们想起家乡妈妈烹调的味道。这里完全靠老板和老板娘两人主持大局,老板娘是主厨而老板是收银员+服务生。
Ivy's Kitchen name is came from Tauke Soh name - Ivy. Due to Ivy cook very well, each dishes is cook all by herself with no MSG at all. For those people who work at outstation, after enjoy the meal here, sure will miss those dishes cooked by mum. Ivy's Kitchen is operate by Ivy's and her husband, Ivy's is the chef and her husband is the waiter + cashier.】

Ivy's Kitchen的室内装潢,虽然只是简单的布置可是却载满老板和老板娘两人的心意去维持餐馆内的一桌一椅。圣诞将近,老板不忘摆放一棵圣诞树配合节日气氛。
Ivy's Kitchen interior design although very simple but it's fill with Ivy's and her husband a lot of patient to keep the restaurant operation. Christmas is near, they wont forget to place a small Christmas Tree to cater Christmas season.

Ivy's Kitchen提供我们晚餐套餐【RM49】包括Gulai Tumis Asam, Joo Hoo Char, Assam Prawn, Inchi Kabin然后甜品我们转换成两杯饮料。而老板好好人,还附送我们一盘的鲤鱼包。
Set dinner that Ivy's Kitchen provide us is Gulai Tumis Asam, Joo Hoo Char, Assam Prawn, Ince Kabin and the dessert we change to 2 fruit drinks. And Tauke is so nice, he complimentary us the Otak-otak.
Gulai Tumis Asam味道超棒,我很喜欢那个浓浓laksa叶和亚参的味道而且鱼肉都超大块而那个鱿鱼炒配上沙律菜一起吃简直美味。很想告诉妈妈一声对不起因为这里的鱿鱼炒比我妈妈炒的还好吃
Gulai Tumis Asam taste was marvelous, I like the heavy taste of laksa leaf and asam taste and the fish meat was so big. And the Joo Hoo Char eat with the salad leaf is fantastic and I have to say sorry to my mum cos the Joo Hoo Char here is better than the Joo Hoo Char cooked by my mum...
 
胭脂鸡和亚参虾当然也是很美味啦。为何我会说这里有家的味道呢?因为当小晶吃这道亚参虾时她说她想起她婆婆炒的亚参虾,有家的味道的食物是天下最美味的。可能我喜欢煎炸食物关系吧,那个胭脂鸡配上调味料,是我最喜欢的菜肴之一。
The Inchi Kabin and Asam Prawn also tasty. Why I said here have home taste? Because when Jing taste the Asam Prawn, she thinking of her grandma cos her grandma cooked the Asam Prawn before too. I feel the food that taste like home is the best taste in the world. Maybe because fried food is my favourite, I like the Inchi Kabin so much, it's the food of the night for me.
这道就是老板请我们吃的鲤鱼包Otak-Otak,不像外面一般的鲤鱼包都小小而且肉松松的,这道鲤鱼包的鱼肉很扎实,下足料的哦,好吃!
This Otak-otak is complimentary by Tauke. It's different with the Otak-otak selling outside which very small, this otak-otak is very big portion and it's full of fish meat. Delicious!!

后记:在我们享用时,老板突然问我是不是blogger还跟我拿了我的部落格网址,还是第一次有人跟我拿网址咧。之后还和我们聊好一阵,中途还跑去接听儿子打来的电话,还唱歌哄孩子睡觉呢,真的是24孝爸爸。=)

【槟城美食】Burmah Road A1 Bak Chang 车水路A1肉粽

在之前造访Eyzza Cafe时,已经发现这车肉粽了,当时小晶吵着要买,答应她吃饱后出来才买。结果用餐后肉粽车不见了,让她脸黑了几分钟,怪我没直接买。这次要去Ivy's Kitchen时又经过发现肉粽车踪迹,不敢再说用餐后才买了所以就停一边去买,我让小晶拿主意结果她买了一个大肉粽【RM5.50】、一个普通肉粽【RM3】和一个豆粽【RM2.50】。
 这肉粽车除了卖肉粽还有卖芋头糕和红豆,我们没有尝试芋头糕和红豆所以不懂味道如何,但当我们要买时,老板好像要收档了因为旁边让顾客现吃的椅子都叠起来了。

大肉粽【RM5.50】,照片看不出多大但真的很大很大,比普通的大一倍,馅料有猪瘦肉、咸蛋黄、香菇和栗子。小晶很贪心的把这个当隔天早餐结果她说吃得很胀,饱到她。。。
她吃完了才告诉我“aiyer...好贵的早餐哦。。。”

这是我的早餐,普通肉粽,我都觉得很大粒了,在想小晶怎么解决大肉粽。普通肉粽馅料只是有猪瘦肉和咸蛋黄罢了。味道还不错的,正合我意的肉粽因为我不吃香菇和栗子的。

 而豆粽也是我的早餐之一,小晶真的是要养我变得更肥吧。有用来制作豆沙饼的小黄豆+咸蛋黄。味道还不赖,有点像华人卖的ketupat。

【槟城美食】槟榔律驰名煎蕊 @ 景贵街

看到向日葵的分享后忍不住也分享我到Penang Road享用第N次这里的煎蕊,每次一路过这里总会问坐在我车上的人要不要吃,哈哈。。。我真的太喜欢这里的煎蕊而且只是RM1.80一碗罢了,比起Alor Star的还便宜咧!这次是带爸爸妈妈去Louis Cafe后去光顾的,毕竟看爸爸在Louis Cafe吃得不是那么尽兴,而这里的煎蕊也是在小时候爸爸时常带我来槟城玩时必到的地方,有时爸爸去槟城甚至会大老远打包回来,虽然已经变得水水的但依然喜欢、依然美味

其实我很喜欢椰浆+黑糖+煎蕊条的融合,最最最喜欢就是大大颗的红豆了,每次都要放在嘴里咀嚼好一阵子。不过小晶不喜欢椰浆所以每次都吃红豆冰罢了,我就相反,我不喜欢红豆冰的那个红糖水。。。

小晶的红豆冰,蛮多料的,不过价钱好像比较贵一些,每次一起给钱的都不懂多少,应该是RM2.50吧。

超多外国和本地艺人慕名而来,老板也和不少艺人合照哦。。。

这里的Rojak一直涨价,3个月前和小晶来时,一大盘才RM3罢了,结果这次变成RM4而且多人的关系结果第一盘和第二盘相隔15分钟才来,我们4人有点后悔order到两盘

【槟城美食】Red Garden 红园美食坊

其实有经过红园几次了可是都不曾进来因为这里给我感觉好像aunty & uncle来的foodcourt而且停车场还要收钱的,头两小时就要RM2了,有谁多少个人来吃会超过1小时的,停车场的主人真的赚呆了。不过会来因为看到向日葵来这里,感觉这里食物好像不错,就来特赖看看,结果这里的环境和我想象有出入咯,蛮多鬼佬的,在uptown的关系吧。

这里的小贩超多,食物价钱有点偏高,和Northam Cafe半斤八两,不过也有一些比较特殊的档口比如Nasi Briyani、超大的日本餐档口等,而且还有个小舞台唱歌,这里平时有驻唱歌手??

 
来到这种小贩中心我最喜欢叫卤肉(Lo Bak)来吃了,而且我们来到档口面前,那个uncle还大大力hardsell他的鱼肉油炸鬼和虾饼所以点了2条卤肉,1条鱼肉油炸鬼,1粒皮蛋,两个虾饼和1条鸡卤肉。不过价钱还蛮贵的,这样就要【RM10.90】了。不过还好uncle没骗我,那个虾饼真的很好吃,只是超迷你的咯。。。
Nasi Briyani档口好像也是那个卤肉uncle的,因为他也是一直在hardsell,大吃的小晶问他能不能加饭?uncle说这么一壶本身已经很大碗了哦,不过小晶坚持要加饭,uncle就说加半碗给她,她就满意的点了Seafood Nasi Briyani【RM8】,有苏东和虾的。结果所谓半碗最后变成多一碗而且只多charge RM1罢了。别以为加饭只是饭哦,是和原本的Seafood Nasi Briyani一样有苏东和虾哦,两个人吃的话蛮值得的。不过最后小晶还是吃一碗罢了,另一碗加饭的和印度饼还是我settle掉,因为这个Nasi Briyani很多黄姜粉,小晶不喜欢。个人觉得味道so so罢了,不应该卖这么贵,毕竟之前我们去GEM吃的,比这个好吃多多有正宗,价钱也是贵一点而且还有冷气吹+好服务。

而我点了Pattaya,即是蛋包饭【RM3.50】。个人觉得价钱还好而且蛮好吃的,包着的炒饭炒得好像暹炒饭,加上蛋包得很美一下。是完美的包着的哦,不是只是盖上面罢了。
MK的部落格才知道她早我一天来这里用餐了,也知道了这里的东炎好像挺不错的,下次有机会还是会来特赖。不过考虑到parking RM2的问题,像我这种穷人唯有在钱包松动时才会造访了。
